Carol Concerts

December 15, 2016

carol-1

The candlelit Great Hall and pre-concert mince pies all added to the Christmas spirit at the Carol Concert. The highlight of the evening was hearing Cantamus perform the winning entry from the first St Paul’s Carol Competition: ‘A child’s song of Christmas’ by Isabella Coombs in the V. Paulina Voices have given a series of performances this Yuletide, including a collaborative concert with Wandsworth Symphony Orchestra at St Mary’s Church in Putney where Laura Harray’s ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ solo set the tone beautifully. Eleven singers from Paulina Voices then rounded off their 2016 performances by leading the Guild of Mercers’ Scholars Carol Service at St Mary Woolnoth Church in the heart of the city of London (below).carol-2
