‘New Views’ Playwrighting Competition Success

June 29, 2015

New Views

This year, the drama department at St Paul’s Girls’ School has been running the National Theatre’s ‘New Views’ playwriting programme, a series of weekly sessions that helped girls create new works for a national competition judged by a panel of professional writers associated with the National Theatre. Of the school’s five playwrights, two were longlisted and one was shortlisted into the final nine out of the 276 entries nationwide. All five applicants produced fantastic work, but special congratulations go to longlister Alexa Stanger and shortlister Freya Wilson with her original and brilliantly written No Houses Out the Window, which will be given a rehearsed reading by professionals at the National Theatre!
