St Paul’s Geographers in Dorking

June 21, 2016

The UIV set off for Dorking equipped with wellies and clipboards and excited to put some of their geographical skills to use. The human investigation aimed to answer the question ‘Is Dorking a great place to live?’ They asked locals to complete questionnaires regarding their community, assessed the environmental quality of the area and looked at factors such as the variety of shops and price of housing. After a welcome ice cream, theyrecorded data at two different sites along the River Tillingbourne in order to answer the question ‘How do rivers change downstream?’. After this great practical experience, they are now analysing their data in class.
