Raniya, UIV, summarises one of the reflective assemblies students have enjoyed during Reading Week:

This week has been an interesting week for many. Reading Week gives us time to reflect, and our recent inspirational assemblies have also been a great opportunity to think about large topics that we may not always consider or discuss. The High Mistress gave us a very thought-provoking assembly on Disability History Month. She started off by explaining to us the importance of understanding what we can do to help disabled people rather than shrugging off their struggles. She also introduced us to a host of musicians with disabilities; it was extraordinary to hear that many of them found a way to continue their sound-driven jobs despite having lost of their sense of hearing. Overall, we all learnt a valuable lesson from this assembly!
