2016 Examination Results

August 18, 2016

Many congratulations to all of our students on their fantastic achievements in the 2016 public examinations which are the culmination of their hard work and commitment and the dedication and expertise of their teachers.

Our students have excelled at GCSE and IGCSE this year; 93.6% of entries attained an A* grade and 99.6% achieved an A* or A grade, a new school and national record. This is the fourth consecutive year that the proportion of entries achieving an A* grade has exceeded 90%. Sixty-five girls have attained straight A* grades in all of their GCSE/ IGCSE examinations.

At A level, we are delighted to announce that this has also been an exceptional year, setting new school records. 60.0% of entries attained an A* grade. 93.8% of entries achieved an A* or A grade and 99.2% a B grade or higher. Twenty-four girls have achieved straight A* grades and 92 girls straight A* or A grades in all of their A level subjects. We wish our leavers every success as they move on to university.

At AS level, 79.1% of entries attained an A grade and 95.8% an A or B grade. The number of our AS level entries has reduced by 40% as girls taking linear A levels in art, biology, chemistry, economics, English, history and physics do not take standalone AS levels in those subjects. This strong foundation bodes very well for this year-group’s prospects at A level and for their success in university applications over the coming academic year.
