Many congratulations to all of our students on their fantastic achievements in the 2019 public examinations, which are the culmination of their hard work and commitment and the dedication and expertise of their teachers.
Our students have excelled at GCSE and IGCSE this year setting new school records. 95.8% of entries attained an A* grade (or 8/9 equivalent) and 99.5% achieved an A* or A grade. This is the seventh consecutive year that the proportion of entries achieving an A* grade has exceeded 90%. In the subjects graded on the new 9-1 system, where 8 and 9 equate to the old A* and a 9 grade is higher than the A*, a remarkable 85% of entries were awarded a 9 grade.
We are delighted to announce that 47.5% of entries attained an A* grade at A level or the Pre-U equivalent D1 or D2. 84.6% of entries achieved an A* or A grade and 96.5% a B grade or higher (or the Pre-U equivalent). We follow Pre-U specifications in 10 subjects in which 20.7% of entries achieved a D1 – a grade that exceeds the A* standard at A level – and 60.9% of entries achieved an A* equivalent D1 or D2 grade.
We wish our leavers every success for the future.
All of these examination results remain provisional and subject to change after the enquiries about results process is completed.
