Recently the careers and higher education department hosted their inaugural virtual working lunch, a chance for students in the VII to hear more about careers in different sectors. Andreana and Bonnie, VII, who are both on the organising committee for this initiative, tell us more:
12 of us in the VII were very privileged to have parents Joy Rhoades and Louisa Treger as our guests in our first virtual working lunch. Both of them are distinguished authors who started off on very different career paths, namely in the law and in classical music, so it was truly fascinating to hear about their journeys to becoming authors and how their other careers informed their writing. Although a working lunch over Zoom was certainly different, we all quickly adapted and managed to gain many insights into the life and processes of an author. It definitely brought us all light amidst lockdown!
