Bank of England Target 2.0 Regional Winners

December 1, 2014

Four of the school’s VIII economists have won the regional final of the Bank of England Target 2.0 competition, held at the offices of the new Prudential Regulation Authority on 26 November, to qualify for the London final in February. They produced a powerful 15 minute presentation on the current state of the UK economy and, mirroring the task facing the Monetary Policy Committee, had to advocate a monetary policy strategy to anchor CPI inflation at 2 per cent over the medium term. The team then responded to some detailed scrutiny from the London Regional Agents of the Bank of England with considerable aplomb. Congratulations go to the presentation team – Caterina Quadrio Curzio, Isabella Liu, Divya Baron and Hannah Kim – and also to the wider research team of Daisy Chandley, Ana McGinnie and Kaiying Xu.
