VIII Play 2016

March 18, 2016

The 1945 film Brief Encounter, starring Celia Johnson, OP and our theatre’s namesake, is one of the best-loved romances of the twentieth century, and the VIII’s three-day run of Brief Encounter brought the iconic story to life in a new way. Through the use of interactive projection and physical theatre, eleven Paulinas and eight Paulines re-interpreted and updated Noël Coward’s play, whilst retaining the funny, romantic and tragic heart of the story which has made it so popular with generations of cinema and theatre-goers.
