The annual Colet Play is produced entirely by students in the VII, who cast, design, direct, and stage manage the performance. Here Courtenay, VII, one of the directors of this year’s production, tells us about more about the experience:
Elise, Tash and I were lucky enough to be the directors for this year’s Colet Play, the slapstick comedy One Man Two Guvnors by Richard Bean. Having acted in many school plays, it was a unique learning experience for all of us to be on the other side of the table so to speak. We enjoyed the experience immensely thanks to our brilliant cast and backstage team, as well as our producer, Astrid. Rehearsals managed to be consistently hilarious, and loud audiences on both nights made for a reassuring confirmation that we didn’t just have a bizarre sense of humour!
