Over the summer girls from St Paul’s represented England in the World Schools Debating Championships. Rachel was the top England speaker coming 10th/230, while Liberty was the 3rd best England speaker coming 24th/230. In the qualifying stage of the competition the England team won 8/9 rounds, losing only to India, the eventual overall winners for the second year in a row. In the quarter-final England triumphed over Australia, a major competitor, setting themselves up in a good position for the final rounds. Although they finally lost 5-2 to Canada in the semi-final, having previously beaten them 3-0 in the qualifying stage, the team were thrilled to place 3rd overall. This was a really exciting experience for the girls involved and we are proud of their success.
