We are delighted to hear from Poppy Watkins (OP, 2011) about another tribute to Rosalind Franklin, the most famous Old Paulina scientist. Mount Anvil, the developer of Hampstead Manor, has commissioned a tondo portrait of Rosalind Franklin to mark International Women’s Month.  The virtual unveiling of the bronze sculpture, by Keziah Burt, on 15 March 2021 was followed by a discussion on ‘How Rosalind paved the way for women in science, and why we need more women in STEM’.

Hampstead Manor has a close link with our history, since it is built  on the site of Westfield College, founded by Constance Maynard in 1882 and to which Frances Gray, High Mistress 1904-27, was appointed as a lecturer in 1883.
