Eco-Anxiety Staff Training Event

May 4, 2020

St Paul’s recently hosted a virtual staff training event over Zoom on the topic of eco-anxiety in young people. Experts Caroline Hickman (Psychotherapist & Researcher, University of Bath & Climate Psychology Alliance) and Clover Hogan (20-year-old climate activist, researcher on eco-anxiety and founder of Force of Nature) discussed the link between environmental issues and mental health in young people, and how best to support students in dealing with the science and emotions of the largest issue of our time. Both presenters are currently involved in applying their expertise to the mental health of young people living through the current crisis, so the event took on a particularly helpful resonance. Attended by over 50 educators, the event included lively debate and much helpful advice shared.
