Eco-Discussion Group

July 7, 2020

Courtenay, VII, gives an update on the eco-discussion group, one of this term’s new virtual co-curricular initiatives:

On Wednesday 10 June we held an eco-discussion group session on the links between environmental and racial justice. CC, VI, did a presentation on lack of diversity in the leadership of environmental movements and deliberate targeting of communities of colour for polluting factories, I discussed the disproportionately felt impacts of global warming on communities of colour, and Izzy, VII, read out Nana’s, VIII, presentation on activism and government accountability. We had an amazing turnout and were very glad to have raised such an important (yet often overlooked) issue.
