English and Drama students in the V and VI visited the Barbican to see Shakespeare’s greatest antihero Macbeth – played by Christopher Eccleston – ‘strut and fret his hour upon the stage’. The performance was thought-provoking, with twists including setting the play in a modern waiting room and casting children to play the ‘weyward sisters’, all of which triggered lively debate in classrooms the next day.
