Geography Trip to Swanage 2016

March 19, 2016

The VII geographers headed to the Jurassic Dorset coastline armed with ranging poles and clipboards for a full weekend of geography fieldwork in Swanage. After conducting surveys in the rural village of Lychett Matravers and askeing the residents about the growth of their village, they analysed their data and provided the evidence for suburbanisation in the area. They visited iconic coastal spots, such as Chesil Beach, Lulworth Cove, Studland Bay and the spectacular land form Durdle Door. A highlight was viewing the Isle of Wight from a high vantage point, making the initial hill trek utterly worthwhile.
