Julian Downward Visits St Paul’s

March 18, 2016

Julian Downward of the Francis Crick Institute at Cancer Research UK recently came in to talk to Medical Society about his fascinating work in the development and cure of lung cancer. He offered valuable insight into different medical related careers, and explained the complications arising from the involvement of the media and added pressures to publish in the world of scientific research. It was very interesting to hear of how the charity works with drugs companies over long periods of time to find new treatments in the extraordinarily complex struggle to find the cure for cancer.
