Last weekend the Senior 1st Lacrosse Team travelled to Aldershot to compete in the National Schools Tournament, the highlight of the season. Here Celeste, VII, describes the experience:
Intially rain got the better of us and, after three hours spent bonding in the Aldershot Holiday Inn, we returned to London. Nevertheless, the rain couldn’t stop us, and we arrived on Sunday ready to defend our trophy. Following pool play in the morning, we advanced to the knockouts unbeaten. After a real team effort and some beautiful lacrosse, we faced Putney, our biggest rival, in the Division 1 final. It was a tight, nail-biting match and when the final whistle went, it was a draw. We entered golden-goal overtime and after an incredible goal by Daliyah, VI, we were crowned victorious! It was a fantastic way for the VIII to end seven years of lacrosse at St Paul’s.
