Living Library

November 25, 2019

On Wednesday 13 November we held our annual Living Library event. The basic idea is that instead of coming to the library to find information by borrowing a book, you can talk to a person who is willing to share their interest or expertise. Volunteers from the VII each chose a topic of their choice, which ranged from art history or animals through to pirates and reverse psychology. We then invited Year 5 students from Larmenier & Sacred Heart Primary School to come and quiz them and hear what they had to say. As always, the Year 5s were an immensely responsive audience and any last-minute nerves were soon forgotten as the library came alive with animated conversations, fuelled by inspiration and enthusiasm. We would like to thank all those who took part for the preparation they put in and their energy and positivity on the day. It’s easy to see why this event is a firm favourite every year.
