LV Trip to Science Live

February 19, 2020

The whole of the LV recently travelled to the Apollo Theatre to watch GCSE Science Live. After assembly, students headed straight off to the venue to secure good seats for the afternoon’s exciting speakers. These speakers included Professor Andrea Sella, who talked about ice and its rarity; Professor Alice Roberts, who talked about evolution and Darwinism; Professor Lord Robert Winston, who talked about the embryo and the sperm/egg; Dr Helen Czerski, who talked about her time out in expeditions and Professor Jim Al-Khalili, who talked about whether we can travel through time. This informative and interesting day out was a perfect opportunity for the students to explore beyond the curriculum, and we hope they all came away with many new exciting ideas to consider.
