Debating Success at Cambridge and England trials

March 6, 2015

Three debaters from St Paul’s, Josie Dallas, Flora Spielman and Antonia Ruddle (all in the VII), won England trials on the back of their performance at Cambridge Schools. Josie and Flora were placed ninth overall and came within a whisker of making the final. The competition had an international flavour, and only three English schools finished above them. Antonia and Armaghan Hallajian (VIII) spent most of the qualifying rounds debating against the boys’ school and the St Paul’s Girls’ C team of Freya Wilson and Bella Forristal (VI); Antonia and Armaghan were proud to finish ahead of the boys. All three of the school’s teams came in the top 25 in the UK out of 640 entries.
