Greek Play 2015

March 26, 2015

This year’s Greek play, Hecuba, directed and performed by classical students in MIV to VII, was staged on Wednesday in the Singing Hall. Set in the aftermath of the Trojan War, the play showed Hecuba, the now enslaved Queen of Troy, face the deaths of her two youngest children and come to such a state of desperation that she is driven to brutal vengeance. Although performed in the original Greek with traditional costume, the play shed light on issues that continue into the present day, including how war can corrupt even the most innocent of people.
