Principia Schools Conference

December 9, 2016

After taking part in the RHS Space Seeds project last year as part of Tim Peake’s mission to the ISS, Monika, Francesca and Hannah in the VIII were selected to present their results at the Principia Schools Conference at the University of York. The group presented their work investigating the physical and chemical differences between the seeds, including their use of Raman spectroscopy, to students and experts from the space industry. They were also lucky enough to meet British astronaut Tim Peake, and discuss their project with him. The day was a brilliant opportunity to meet other people who were passionate about space and has given the girls lots of new ideas to introduce at the school Space Society.
