Oxford Schools is perhaps the most competitive of all the debate competitions, graced by the presence of fourteen international teams from around the world. Antonia Ruddle (VII) and Freya Wilson (VI) performed superbly to qualify third for the final stages. Individually they came fourth and sixth, making them the highest placed U17 and U16 speakers, respectively. The previous Saturday, Freya and Flora Spielman (VII) had qualified for the semi-finals at UCL. They were defeated by Josie Dallas and Jackie Li (VII) who won an entertaining debate about the rise of UKIP before being placed second in a high quality final about giving economic and military support to the Ukraine.
