At the beginning of the Christmas holidays a group of VI historians had a three-day trip to Berlin. We were able to see historic attractions ranging from the Holocaust Memorial to the Berlin Wall. The highlights of the week had to be visiting the Christmas markets and going on an ice slide. Almost every evening we tried out local food (although we mainly ate waffles and bratwurst) and made the most of the opportunity to do some Christmas shopping, which made our luggage considerably heavier on the way home. It was an incredibly interesting, if sometimes sombre, trip which enabled us to learn much more about the history of Germany.
