On Friday 8 September the VII were joined by their counterparts from across the river for the first instalment of the new Leadership Programme. The Leadership Programme is designed to take place over six sessions spread across the school year, hosted alternately by us and the boys’ school, and aims to teach students essential leadership skills such as communication, assertiveness, and self-confidence. Friday’s session began in the Great Hall with a talk about the essential qualities needed to be a leader, with the students then going down to the dining room for discussions in smaller Peer Learning Groups. The day finished with a panel and Q&A with figures ranging from consultants to engineers to university vice-chancellors. The session proved to be informative and a great way to start discussions, and we look forward to the next instalment of the programme.
