On 21 September, a group of Paulinas attended the “How the Light Gets In” philosophy and music festival on Hampstead Heath. Izzie, VII, describes the day:
Surrounded by brightly-coloured tents and a lively atmosphere, we enjoyed a range of fascinating talks and activities. Some students listened to Kate Kirkpatrick discussing Simone de Beauvoir’s feminist role with relation to Sartre, while those enthusiastic about science saw an exhibit modelling a prototype of the Mars Rover that will be launched in 2020. We witnessed political talks and debates between different party members and learnt about the importance of fashion in our perception of others. It was an enlightening and thought-provoking event which we would highly recommend for anybody interested in politics or philosophy.
