Raniya, UIV, discusses one of her new favourite clubs:

When people heard that I was doing yoga, their most common question was “don’t you have to be flexible for yoga?” Well, the answer is… no, you DON’T have to be flexible for yoga. People often anticipate that yoga is just a form of stretching and is quite boring and uneventful. In reality, it is quite the opposite. Yoga is about being mindful and channeling all of your emotions into having a better day. Since starting yoga club at the beginning of term, my body and mind have felt more relaxed and calmer for the week than ever before. We practice many skills such as balancing and poses, like the classic tree pose, and our instructor leads us in some very helpful stretches to get our muscles working. Our instructor Hannah has been teaching yoga at SPGS for 3 years now and every time you see her, she has a big smile on her face. She also did online yoga classes before school via Zoom during quarantine so if you tapped into those, you will know that she is a very encouraging teacher and always pushes us to be our best. Try one session and you will fall in love with it just like I did.
