Over the past two weeks, Classics Society have had the pleasure of welcoming Dr Nicholas Zair to speak on the fascinating topic of reading, writing and archaism, exploring sub-elite education in the Roman Empire, and Professor James Clackson on the intriguing topic of swearing and bad language in both ancient and modern settings. Both were brilliant talks and unique opportunities to gain insight into Roman origins of language. We look forward to hearing from Dr Stuart McKie after half term.
