10 movies you won’t want to miss in 2020!

There's plenty to look forward to this year: the Summer Olympics, the US election, Cyberpunk 2077, the opening of the Yahoo time capsule and, as always, an overabundance of upcoming movies

Here’s a brief introduction to some of the most exciting upcoming films of 2020. In no particular order:

  1. Frozen 2

A sequel to the phenomenon of 2013, Frozen 2 doesn’t disappoint at all. Its animation is, once again, gorgeous and the songs won’t leave your head. It may not have the natural flow and perfect plot of the first one, but it’s as good as sequels get.

  1. Birds of Prey

After her break up with the Joker, Harley joins the Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya to save a young girl from an evil crime lord.

  1. Black Widow

Yet another superhero movie, Black Widow is set between Captain America: Civil War and Infinity War. It gives us a deeper look into Natasha Romanoff’s past and her shenanigans before that train station scene in Infinity War

  1. No Time To Die

The 25th instalment of the James Bond film franchise, and the final James Bond film starring Daniel Craig as Bond. This theme song will be sung by Billie Eilish, who at 18 will be the youngest recording artist to take on the role.

  1. Wonder Woman 1984

DC’s second movie this year, Wonder Woman 1984 follows on from 2017’s Wonder Woman. Diana returns, this time to fight the Cheetah and Maxwell Lord.

  1. Mulan

A live-action remake of Disney’s classic animated film Mulan from 1998. It features no musical numbers, no Li Shang (although he seems to be remade into a character called Commander Tung) and most importantly no Mushu – but there’s still hope, right?

  1. Death On The Nile

Nothing seems to be stopping the production of new remakes of Agatha Christie films – not even the existence of a previous 1978 novel adaptation. (Did we really expect it to end after Murder on the Orient Express?)

8.The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge On The Run

I was definitely saving the best for later when I wrote this list. This film will become a vital part of cinematic history – I can feel it. After all, no other film has Keanu Reeves as a talking tumbleweed.

  1. SCOOB!

Just like Black WidowSCOOB! offers a new plot and a backstory for Scooby and the gang. We get to see how Mystery Inc. formed, and watch them face their greatest challlenge yet as they take on the ghost dog Cerberus.

  1. Sonic the Hedgehog

After Sonic’s major makeover, the movie now looks much more appealing. Based on the video game franchise of the same name, Sonic is an alien hedgehog who comes to Earth to escape evil forces who want his super-speed.

There are so many films to look forward to this year, and this is but a handful of them. I hope you enjoy all these recommendations and find a few hidden gems of your own!
