Events and Media Technician

St Paul’s Girls’ School are looking to appoint the role of Events & Media Technician to work as part of a multi-disciplined and cohesive IT Services Team.

You will directly support the technical delivery of assemblies, meetings, concerts, plays and other events using lighting, audio visual, recording, streaming, multi-media and IT equipment to deliver a high-quality experience on behalf of the school.

The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders and departments including Music/Drama/Art/Creative-Technology/Communications. This involves working with teachers, students, and outside speakers & organisations, usually taking place across a number of large event spaces including the ‘Great Hall’ and ‘Singing Hall’ which the candidate will oversee from an AV/IT perspective.

Outside of the busy events schedule, the candidate will support the IT Services Team by contributing to first line support, specialising in media requests and the ongoing maintenance of our online media & digital signage platform and working with technicians and Heads of Departments to build a clear vision for the school in its approach to Events & Media.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, forward planning, attention to detail, methodical problem-solving techniques in a time critical environment, together with a ‘can do’ attitude to work.

You must have working knowledge in the use of a programmable lighting desk and in the broad application of audio-visual & IT equipment. In addition, you must be able to demonstrate good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Apple MacOS and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Flexible working is required to support events before and after the school day.
