Required from end August 2020
If you have at least two years’ teaching experience in Key Stage 1 education in the UK, some leadership experience, preferably at Head of Year level and the flexibility to adapt to new cultures, make the move to St Paul’s Girls’ School’s new sister school in Chengdu, China.
Sheng Bo International School is the first international government backed school opened as a partnership between SPGS International and Herald Education Hong Kong. A vibrant, co-educational day school, it will offer a full British Curriculum enhanced with the best elements of Chinese culture and learning. Put simply, it will create a space for children to learn, grow and thrive physically, emotionally and academically. Initially offering early primary provision, the school will grow over the years ahead into a full K-12 school.
Carrying out the teaching and professional duties of a KS1 class teacher, your challenge will be to establish a culture and love of learning and life amongst students. We will also rely on you to fulfil the role of the Head of Key Stage 1, contribute to the development of the curriculum and lead and inspire the KS1 team to produce high quality teaching and pastoral care to the students. All the while, you will be based in the prosperous, fast-growing Hi-Tech District of Chengdu – a city that offers an exceptional living and working environment.
To apply, you will need Qualified Teacher Status (UK), PGCE or a Degree in Primary Education and experience of the KS1 curriculum framework. A good understanding of how pupils’ learning is affected by their physical, intellectual, emotional and social development and the various stages of child development is important too. In return, as well as a highly competitive salary, you will receive an attractive international benefits package, a generous resettlement offer that includes either accommodation or a housing allowance and paid for travel back to the UK. You will also have access to a comprehensive L&D scheme, as well as sharing close links with St Paul’s Girls’ School in London, so there are plenty of opportunities to share ideas with UK counterparts.
Closing date: 31 March 2020 at midnight GMT.
