As Head of Music, you will teach the subject at EYFS and KS1 level and lead the music department team, with the aim of establishing a culture and love of music amongst students, regardless of their musical background. You will also get to plan lessons with other teachers, share ideas, approaches and professional knowledge and contribute to the development of the school curriculum. Additionally, you will be based in the prosperous, fast growing Hi-Tech District of Chengdu – a city that offers an exceptional living and working environment. You will have access to a comprehensive L&D scheme, as well as close links with St Paul’s Girls’ School in London to ensure plenty of opportunity to share ideas with UK counterparts.

To apply, you will need Qualified Teacher Status (UK), PGCE or a Degree in Education plus a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Music. You will also need the ability to play the piano to a high-performance standard, with other instruments a plus. At least two years’ Music teaching experience in Early Years education and/or Key Stage 1 education in the UK is also required.
