Papaya is rich in papain and vitamin A. It is also filled with antioxidants which help clear the skin and get rid of the dirt that can clog your pores, thus causing spots. In addition, papaya is very low in sodium, so it does not dry out the skin unlike many other fruits. Lastly, the enzyme papain acts as a powerful exfoliator, and dissolves inactive proteins and dead cells that can also block pores.
Papaya also gets rid of pigment. Being high in vitamin C and lycopene, papaya is very effective when it comes to getting rid of dark circles and uneven pigmentation.
As well as this, papaya is a wonderful hair care product. While putting fruit in hair may seem odd, it is often used to remedy dry hair and exfoliate the scalp due to its abundance of cleansing acids. As well as this, papaya is used on thin hair. Its surplus of minerals and vitamins act as a natural conditioner, making hair thicker and softer. The seeds also act in much the same way.
