Make Christmas Merry

Help people this Christmas…

Christmas is nearly upon us. A time for exchanging presents, stuffing yourself with turkey and sneaking some of that advent calendar chocolate!

What we tend to forget is that Christmas is also a season of goodwill and time to help those who are homeless, recently bereaved or simply just lonely. We should make an active effort to help these people, assist them and bring them joy, as this time of year is one in which to be merry.

It is a well-known fact that acts of kindness hugely benefit our happiness and wellbeing. There are innumerable acts you can do to help the community. You can work at a charity at this busy time of the year, when crowds of people storm into shops buying bundles of clothes or presents.

Or how about a reverse advent calendar: doing a good deed, however small it may be, every day, to try and make a difference.

Help out children and women escaping domestic abuse this Christmas by gifting a refuge parcel. Refuge parcels range from £10 to £100, so it’s up to you how much you want to donate. Your refuge parcels may provide emergency toiletries, food and clothing for women who have suffered domestic abuse, or even a Christmas present for a child who has lost their favourite toy. Simple, unexpected acts of kindness at Christmas can really brighten someone’s day and make you feel good as well.
