Victoria (VIII) has won second place in the 2021 Christopher Tower Poetry Competition run by Christ Church College, Oxford. The Tower Poetry Competition offers the UK’s most valuable prize for young poets, and is open to students between 16-18 years of age who are educated in the UK. The 2021 competition was judged by renowned poets Kwame Dawes and Elise Paschen and they said of Victoria’s poem, ‘you could never tell where this poem was going next, but it was just incredible when you got there.’ You can read her winning poem here.
