Ways to give

Thank you for your interest in giving to the St Paul’s Girls’ School bursary fund. Every gift, large or small, helps us to provide a transformational education for talented students, regardless of their financial background.

We offer two main ways to support our bursary programme

  1. You can join the hundreds of people donating to our bursaries by making a one-off gift, of any size.
  2. Or you can set up a Regular Gift which can be made as a monthly, quarterly or annual recurring payment. Regular giving is hugely important to us as it allows us to plan with greater financial certainty. Gifts can start from just £1.90 per month.

By making a regular gift of your choosing you automatically become a member of our 1904 Society. Your gift will continue to be collected until you cancel the donation. All members of the 1904 Society are listed in our yearly Impact Report and are invited to a special annual thank you event hosted by the High Mistress.

Gift Aid

St Paul’s Girls’ School is a registered charity which allows us to accept tax efficient gifts. Our registered charity number is 1119613. UK taxpayers can donate under the Gift Aid scheme which means that donations are treated as being made net of basic rate tax which the school can reclaim from HMRC, increasing the value of the cash donation by 25%. Higher rate taxpayers at 40% and 45% can reclaim the difference between the basic and higher rates of tax by completing an annual self-assessment return form. Please make sure you tick the Gift Aid box as you make an online gift or print, sign and return the Gift Aid declaration below to enable the school to reclaim basic rate tax on your gift. Find out more here.

Leaving a gift in your will to our bursary programme

If St Paul’s shaped your life, a legacy gift is a powerful way to say thank you – and to open the same doors for future generations of Paulinas.

By including St Paul’s in your will, you help us to continue to deliver an exceptional education and broaden access through bursaries.

When you let us know of your intention to leave a gift, you become part of Paulina Futures, our legacy society – a community of thoughtful supporters who want to support the school and make a difference to children and young people for years to come.

I owe a huge debt to SPGS not only for its teaching but also its encouragement of Paulinas to believe in themselves and the interesting careers they could aim for and achieve. I am leaving a legacy under my Will to support a bursary for a bright young girl from one of London’s less privileged areas, enabling her to benefit from the same Paulina education that I was fortunate enough to receive. I hope I might encourage you likewise to leave a legacy, however small, to the same end. Judith Portrait (SPGS 1957 to 1964) a patron of our legacy society - Paulina Futures

If you would like to speak to us about the possibility of leaving a legacy we would be delighted to discuss this with you. Please speak to Sarah Harrison, Deputy Development Director (+44 20 7605 4814).

A reduced rate of Inheritance Tax applies where 10% or more of a deceased’s net estate (after deducting IHT exemptions, reliefs and the nil-rate band) is left to charity. In those cases the current 40% rate will be reduced to 36%.

If you would like to remember us in your will, we recommend that you consult a solicitor. The official name of the school is St Paul’s Girls’ School and it is a registered charity (charity registration number 1119613).
