Holly, VII, tells us more about the Eco Discussion Group’s first meeting of the Spring term:

On Monday, we held our first Eco Discussion Group session of the term, where we were extremely lucky to host Old Paulina Dr Jess Ayers, who spoke to us about her career working in climate change and international development. She talked about her journey after leaving SPGS in 2001, including jobs and projects abroad in Nepal and Bangladesh, then working in the Civil Service and UK Government, before taking her current job as Director of Climate Change at the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation. She gave a fascinating talk, mentioning how the economic, social and political aspects and impacts of climate change are so important in tackling the climate crisis, and how she is educating her children to fight for change. Dr Ayers’ inspiring talk was attended by a number of students from our partner schools across the UK and her advice on environmental careers was invaluable to us all.
