Eco Discussion Group

Eco Discussion Group was set up virtually by Courtenay, VIII, last term during lockdown, and this autumn Tian and Holly, VII, have taken over the reins. Here, Holly explains this new initiative:

At eco discussion group we meet every Monday 6:30-7pm on Zoom and have already had three excellent session over the past few weeks. Topics for discussion have included Ruth Badger Ginsburg’s environmental work, government responsibility, Trump vs Biden from an environmental perspective, and most recently the links between environmental and racial justice, as part of Black History Month. We have had some fascinating discussions and heard a range of perspectives surrounding climate change, and it is great to be able to speak to others outside our year group bubble! We are opening up this club to the London Schools Eco-Network and our partner schools, and we are planning on bringing in OP speakers involved in the environmental world, so there are many more exciting things to look forward to after half term!
