Announcement of new High Mistress of St Paul’s Girls’ School for September 2025
The Governors are delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Liz Hewer as the High Mistress of St Paul’s Girls’ School when Mrs Sarah Fletcher retires next summer.She will take up her position in September 2025 and we firmly believe she will bring a wide-ranging vision, strong leadership and a passion for excellence to our school community.
Mrs Hewer has been Head of St George’s, Ascot, a senior girls’ boarding and day school in Berkshire, since September 2016. She has had teaching and school leadership roles at several highly successful schools including Bedford School, Marlborough College, RGS Guildford and prior to her appointment at St George’s School, as one of the Deputy Heads at St Mary’s School Ascot for seven years. Mrs Hewer is also the Chair of the Boarding Committee at the Girls’ Schools Association and is an experienced school Governor and ISI Inspector.
Our current High Mistress, Mrs Sarah Fletcher, who has led our school since September 2017 with enormous distinction and success, announced her intention to retire earlier this year and will step down as High Mistress in August 2025. Mrs Hewer is perfectly placed to take St Paul’s Girls’ School on to the next chapter of its journey and is very excited and much looking forward to joining us.
