Charities Committee 2023-24

The Charities Committee has organised a variety of successful fundraising events this past year, raising over £10,000 for our two school-chosen charities, Girls Not Brides and the UK Sepsis Trust. Additionally, we have supported the British Red Cross and contributed to the Morocco Crisis Relief Fundraiser. We are incredibly grateful and fortunate for the generosity and commitment of our community in achieving these remarkable results.

Our concerts and soirées stood out as major highlights, raising an impressive £1,615, while the staff pantomime, Cinderella, not only entertained but also contributed a further £1,000 to our causes. Charity lunches added £800 to our funds, and a series of colourful dress-up days, bake sales, and lemonade stands collectively garnered £500. The hot chocolate, a favourite among the younger students, added further to our total.

Our Step Up to Sepsis initiative, where students took part in a sponsored walk to raise money, was particularly impactful, as was TAG. Moreover, activities involving teachers, such as the annual University Challenge and netball and badminton matches fostered a sense of community and engagement.

We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support and generosity of everyone involved. This year has been filled with memorable events and impactful contributions that have made a real difference – our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who participated and helped us achieve our goals. We wish the next year’s Charities Committee the best of luck in continuing this important work!
