Charities activities

While we have had to rethink our fundraising strategies to fit with Covid-19 restrictions, the Charities Committee have made a great start in the past few weeks.

The Charities Committee discuss some of the exciting fundraising activities they are organsied so far this term:

While we have had to rethink our fundraising strategies, we have made a great start in the past few weeks, raising money for our two school charities: Mary’s Meals and Women’s Aid. As bake sales are off the table, we held a dessert penny race, where students donated to the allocated bucket for the chosen dessert. The triumphant winner was a chocolate brownie which the catering department kindly factored into the menu. Last Friday 9 October we had a dress up day themed around ‘Lockdown Looks’, and many students and staff came to school in their comfiest clothes and donated. Saturday 10 October was ‘World Porridge Day’, an initiative run by Mary’s Meals celebrating the vitamin enriched porridge that keeps so many children coming to school, and we have been sharing pictures of porridge smiles on our Instagram accounts. It has been a great start to the year. If you would like to donate, you can do so by this link to our JustGiving page.
