Hosted by our VII (Year 12) MUN team, a mini-Model United Nations conference brought together students from the V and VI (Years 10-11) for an afternoon of lively debate, negotiation and global problem-solving. Across three committees, delegates tackled complex issues including drone warfare, nuclear proliferation and human rights in Somalia with remarkable confidence, intellectual rigour and composure.
Representing countries from around the world, students were challenged to defend perspectives that were not always their own, requiring careful research, persuasive argument and thoughtful diplomacy throughout the proceedings. Resolutions were proposed, amended and debated in sessions that demonstrated both impressive analytical thinking and genuine engagement with contemporary global issues.
Congratulations to all students who took part, particularly those awarded committee prizes for outstanding contributions. It was an excellent afternoon of debate and discussion, and a reassuring reminder that the future of international diplomacy may well be in very capable hands.
