SPGS Wins Best Play

SPGS Wins Best Play

We are delighted to share that our production of The Welkin has been awarded Best Play at the National School Theatre Awards®, presented last night at the Gillian Lynne Theatre by James Graham OBE.

What a night for St Paul’s Girls’ School Drama.

Performed in March 2026, The Welkin was recognised in a category featuring 35 productions from state, independent and specialist performing arts schools across the UK.

This award is a testament to the extraordinary talent, creativity and dedication of our students, staff and wider production team. Theatre at SPGS is about far more than performance; it develops confidence, collaboration, resilience and the courage to tackle complex ideas, both on and off the stage.

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this remarkable production to life, and to Richard Davies and students Marilou, Genevieve, Poppy, Rachel and Maya, who represented SPGS on the night.
