This was a fun yet challenging fundraiser, in which we swam for 20 minutes using any stroke we wanted and were sponsored by friends and family for every lap completed. This year, the money was directed towards our two chose charities, The UK Sepsis Trust – a charity that supports patients with sepsis, a possibly life-threatening disease triggered by infection, and Girls Not Brides – a global partnership which aims to abolish child marriage.
It was a fantastic event, in which everyone did their bit to raise money for charity. All the students pushed themselves to raise more funds. Although we all did have sore legs afterwards, we had a fun time, and it was all for a great cause. A fellow MIV said, “It was a nice event, and it felt good raising money for charity, even though it brought me a lot of physical pain!” Well done to everyone who took part in it, and a huge thank you to all the P.E. Department for organising this fundraiser!
