In the spirit of ‘Science Week’, last Wednesday we were honoured to host three wonderful alumnae: Lauren Weaver (SPGS 2011-2018), Katriona Barr (SPGS 2004-2011) and Roberta Barr (SPGS 2005-2012), who shared their inspiring journeys in the field of mathematics and enlightened us on what it’s like to study mathematics at university. They offered invaluable insights about interview preparation, building a strong personal statement and tips on how to extend ourselves beyond the boundaries of the curriculum. A range of year groups attended our maths meet where we bonded over complex cubes and stimulating games such as tic tac toe ten. While this was challenging, we collaborated on formulating strategies using the power of mathematics and found how perseverance is always the key to success in maths.
