On Thursday 25 November, we were lucky enough to welcome John Dickie, Professor of Italian Studies at University College London to give a talk about the Sicilian Mafia.

Focussing on the history of the organisation Cosa Nostra, it was fascinating to learn about the figures of Falcone and Borsellino and their legacies in Italy today. Professor Dickie offered insight into the role of women in the Mafia and its representation in the media and it was intriguing to hear from someone with so much knowledge in this field. Special thanks to Mrs Knight and the Italian department for organising this talk.
