Henley Royal Regatta
On Friday 23 June, SPGSBC successfully qualified an 8+ into the Prince Philip Challenge Trophy at Henley Royal Regatta for the second time in the boat club history, the first being the previous year.This was a huge achievement for our 8+ as we had never trained in this crew prior to the race, due to some very unfortunate medical emergencies, and this result was a testament to the perseverance and determination that we had displayed throughout the year.
On the following Thursday, we faced the impressive Deerfield Academy (USA), who narrowly lost the final, which unfortunately concluded our HRR campaign. Nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our time training on the Henley course and racing at Henley Royal Regatta, and we are super excited to see what next season has in store for the entirety of SPGSBC!
