Richmond Festival

Richmond Festival

On Tuesday 13 June, Middle School Choir took part in the Richmond Festival, performing in the intermediate choral section.

Despite the heat, we turned up in full force decked out in our concert black, ready for a wonderful evening ahead. We performed Bring me little water Silvy (including some impressive body percussion!) and I can sing you the stars. The former was also sung (with the same body percussion…) by my mum’s choir later on in the adult category! We were up against two other talented choirs, Resound Girls’ Choir and Waldegrave School Choir who were lovely to listen to, so much so that we were surprised and delighted when the adjudicator announced the winners… St Paul’s Girls’ School! We achieved a high mark of 90, which is a distinction, and our comments included having an “absolutely lovely sound and blend” and a “balanced and beautiful” performance. We were all very proud of ourselves and all in all it was a lovely evening out. A big thank you to Miss Pegler for organising and for a great few terms’ worth of Middle School Choir, we wouldn’t have won without her! Also, to Mr Brown, Miss Freemantle, and Miss White for making the evening possible.
