MIV Party 2023

MIV Party 2023

On Friday 1 December, all of us in the MIV (Y7) were thrown an amazing party by VII (Y12) and this year’s theme was Barbie!

Many of us dressed up in pink clothes or Barbie-related outfits and started our party by heading to the dining hall with anticipation and expectation. As we entered the hall, we were all greeted by tables filled with many pink sweets, some chocolate biscuits and so much more. We went on to grab a slice of pizza and enjoy some very well picked songs (some of which were Taylor Swift!)

As we finished our pizza, we headed to the Great Hall ready to dance with our friends and enjoy an exhilarating and fun evening prepared for us by the VII. Surrounding the Great Hall, multiple classrooms were filled with activities such as pin the Ken on the donkey, volleyball, a Photo booth and many more thrilling activities. Many of us thoroughly enjoyed these activities while others just enjoyed dancing around on the stage!

A sea of positive, pink-clothed people filled the Great Hall, and many were experiencing a severe sugar rush due to the excessive amounts of chocolate and sweets that we had all consumed! The pink lighting had created the illusion of everything being of that colour!

Towards the end of our party, we were all called to stand in front of the stage to enjoy a hilarious and extraordinary video of some of the teachers dancing: I have to admit some of the teachers have better dance moves than you may think! Shortly after this, winners of the best student costume and teacher costume were announced. Isabella and Charlotte won best MIV costume and Mrs Doble won best teacher costume. Personally, I thought that Mrs Doble definitely deserved to win teacher with the best costume as she swapped her usual purple ensemble with an extremely creative pink attire.

Overall, the party was an amazing experience and all of the MIV are extremely thankful to the VII for throwing it. It is safe to say that we all loved Barbie even more than we did before 4 o ‘clock that Friday!
